North American International Auto Show in Detroit presented us the Lexus LFA or the most popular new Lexus sports car, this is an awesome car and made it’s buzz recently after auto show. Looks like Lexus entered the sport car business and they’re doing that quite good.

The price of Lexus LFA will be cc 375000$, and the future owners can’t just simply buy one from local dealer. You must send an application to Lexus if you want to buy LFA, and Lexus will decide if you can buy the car. We saw the same concept with Ferrari, but I never thought that Lexus will use the same concept in car selling business.


You can start to put down your money now as the Lexus supercar will be available for sale in first quarter of 2011, they will build 20 car every month till they reach the 500. This means a new prestige car for the rich, the marketing so far is very good for LFA.

The Cube is all about cutting-edge style, so it may come as a pleasant surprise to learn that it’s also Nissan’s second-cheapest car. Even more surprising is the standard equipment list, which includes air conditioning, CD player, power windows and locks, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control — that’s more equipment and a lower price than a Hyundai Elantra (which the Cube helped bumped down to page two of this list). The Cube isn’t particularly thrilling to drive, but it’s fun to look at and has gobs of passenger space.

The Forte is Kia’s promising new compact sedan, a well-executed vehicle that rises well above the car it replaces (the Spectra) to give mainstream compacts like the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra something to worry about. But while the mid-level Forte EX ($16,690) trounces its Japanese competitors on value, the same can’t be said of the base model, the Forte LX. It comes with a CD player, Bluetooth speakerphone, antilock brakes and electronic stability control (ESC) as standard, but adding an automatic transmission and air conditioning adds $2,500 to the price — bringing it to $16,890, just $110 less than a similarly-equipped Toyota Corolla.

The base-model SX4 is your classic “loss leader” — no air conditioning, no stereo, no automatic transmission, and you can get it in any color you like, provided the only color you like is white. That said, the SX4 does come with power windows and locks, antilock brakes, and a zinger of an engine — 2 liters and 150 horsepower, which makes it the muscle car of the bargain-basement set. The SX4 is one of my favorite small cars thanks to its cute styling, surprisingly spacious back seat, and high fun-to-drive factor, but if you’re shopping for bargain wheels, it’s a bit hard to justify.

The Soul, Kia’s stylish new mini-wagon, is an intriguing car and an outstanding buy. The $13,995 base model includes air conditioning, power windows and locks, CD stereo with USB input jack, antilock brakes and electronic stability control. So what’s the catch? Well, the base-model Soul only comes in white, silver or black, it’s not available with an automatic transmission, and its 122 horsepower 1.6 liter engine is less powerful than the 142 hp 2-liter unit found in other versions of the Soul — but it’s every bit as comfortable, practical and safe. If you can live with a stick-shift, the base-model Soul is a lot of car for the money.

The Yaris 3-door has always been one of the smartest cheap-car buys, what with its standard air conditioning and antilock brakes, and for 2010 it’s a better deal than ever — though the price is $430 higher than last year, the Yaris now gets electronic stability control as standard. Need something with back doors? The 5-door Yaris now comes with a manual transmission, dropping the price to just $13,655 ($300 more than the 3-door), while the 4-door Yaris sedan starts at $14,115. The Yaris is good looking, easy to drive, and the hatchbacks can be squeezed into impossibly small parking spaces. Epic reliability makes the Yaris a good choice for those who keep their cars forever, and strong resale values are a plus for those who don’t.

Like most cars at this end of the price scale, the base-model Chevy Aveo is a stripped-down model, though it does get an AM/FM radio with an input jack for an MP3 player and a provision for dealer-installed air conditioning (at extra cost, of course). The Aveo offers a tan interior with fake-wood trim, which sounds cheesy but actually looks pretty nice, and you can get a hatchback version for $200 more. On the flip side, the Aveo doesn’t drive very well, it’s weak on safety equipment, and adding factory A/C, a CD player and power windows pushes the price well past $15k. For that kind of money, you can do much better.

It’s no surprise that the smallest car in America is also one of the least expensive, but the cheapest version of the Smart Fortwo, called the Pure, is pretty sparse — no power windows or mirrors, no air conditioning, not even a stereo. But it does include an automatic transmission and lots of safety gear, including side airbags, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control (ESC) — in fact, it’s the least-expensive car to offer this life-saving technology as standard. And the creature comforts missing in the Fortwo Pure come standard in the Fortwo Passion, which costs only $2,000 more.

For 2010 Kia has raised the base-model Rio’s price by $250 and dropped the standard stereo, leaving the Rio Base with four airbags and little else (the only options are floor mats and, inexplicably, a trunk-mounted spoiler). If you want anything nicer, including a paint color other than white, black or silver, you have to buy the Rio LX, which gets air conditioning, a CD player, and antilock brakes (ABS) — but at $14,490, it’s a whopping $2,530 more than a Nissan Versa with optional A/C and ABS. (At that price, the Versa lacks a stereo, but that’s easily solved with a trip to Best Buy.) And the Nissan has better resale values and crash test scores. Just goes to show that a low price doesn’t always mean good value.

Compared to the Hyundai Accent Blue, the Nissan Versa 1.6 offers two extra doors, a nicer and roomier interior, and better resale value — well worth the extra $20, if you ask me. That said, the base-model Versa is pretty well stripped. Color choices are limited, as are options — you can get air conditioning ($1,000), an automatic transmission ($1,000), and antilock brakes ($250), but if you want a stereo or power windows you’ll have to go for one of the pricier Versas. But even the pricier Versas aren’t that pricey — an automatic Versa 1.8S with a CD player, power windows and locks, A/C, and electronic stability control can be had for just over $16k.

Last year, Hyundai chopped the price of the Accent to undercut Nissan’s Versa (see below) by $20, but you had to buy a more expensive model in order to get any options. The price is unchanged for 2010, but you can now add air conditioning for an extra $1,000, although you’ll still have to buy the pricier Accent GS if you want a stereo or automatic transmission. Hyundai has tweaked the powertrain for better fuel economy — hence the name change from “GS Base” to “Blue” — but they’ve also limited color choices to blue (of course), white, and shades of gray. The Accent is good fun to drive in a back-to-basics sort of way, but the lack of advanced safety features and mediocre crash test scores make it difficult to justify.

2011 Jaguar XJ Reviews on First Drive

The XJ sedan has been the stately staple of the Jaguar brand since 1968. Though redesigned several times since it was introduced (the last redesign was for the 2004 model year), the styling of this proper British saloon has always been an evolution of the original, so it has had similar looks for decades.

As a result, the car has appeared old to some consumers and has struggled to shed the quality issues Jaguar had before Ford Motor Co. took ownership in 1989. Now owned by the Indian company Tata Motors, Jaguar has given the XJ an all-new look for the 2011 model year. But will it be enough for the XJ to take some sales away from better-selling German competitors?

Model Lineup
The 2011 Jaguar XJ is offered in three trims: base, Supercharged and Supersport. Each is available in short- or long-wheelbase body styles (the latter known as XJL). Among the standard features on the base version are leather upholstery, keyless access and starting, a 16-way power adjustable driver's seat, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a navigation system with 30-gigabyte hard drive for music storage, an HD radio, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, iPod connectivity, xenon headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels. Standard safety features consist of dual front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags, active front head restraints, a tire-pressure monitor, anti-lock brakes, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, cornering brake control, traction control and electronic stability control. A blind-spot monitor, rearview camera, and front and rear park assist are also standard.

Under the Hood

The 2011 Jaguar XJ has three all-new 5.0-liter overhead cam V8 engines. These modern engines come with four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing and direct injection. The base trim uses a naturally aspirated version that produces 385 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The Supercharged trim gets a supercharged (of course) version that makes 470 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque. The top-line Supersport has a hotter version of the supercharged engine that churns out 510 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. All engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift capability through a pair of steering-wheel paddles.

Anyway, Honda's readying the next-gen Odyssey for release sometime later this year. We've already gotten a near-production preview in the form of the "concept" version introduced in Chicago and presently sitting on the floor at the New York Auto Show. Now, thanks to reader Bernardo Roque, we've got a few new spy shots of the next-gen van out testing in Las Vegas. One photo gives a peek at the interior via the open driver's door and tailgate, but it's still too far away to see anything in useful detail. What is obvious is that this thing is otherwise fundamentally identical to the so-called Odyssey Concept.

History suggests the DVD entertainment and navigation system will become available at this level, creating a 2011 Odyssey EX-L priced around $38,000.

Topping the line will be the 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring at an estimated $42,000 and the 2011 Odyssey Touring Elite at an estimated $44,000. They’ll feature a few exclusive items -- the Touring adding 17-inch alloy wheels versus the EX-L’s 16s, for example. The next-generation BMW 5-Series. A class leader since its inception, the 5-Series Sedan and Touring wagon remain crucial vehicles in BMW’s lineup and with the next-gen versions now just months away speculation about the final design has been heating up.

The new 5-Series Sedan is set to arrive in late 2009 for the 2010 model year and heavily disguised prototypes have already been seen testing around the streets of Munich. While those prototypes revealed few details, these latest computer generated rendering gives us a clear indication as to what to expect for the new executive wagon.

Most of the planned changes are skin-deep. Under the new sheet metal, BMW will continue with its new found love of turbocharging. The new 4.4L twin-turbo V8 from the recently revealed X6 is expected to appear in a range topping model, while more turbo-diesel variants are expected to join the lineup as well. BMW is currently developing its second generation common rail system for its diesel powerplants, which will operate at greater pressure for improved performance. The transmission systems will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed Steptronic semi-auto gearbox, however a new eight-speed unit from ZF is also expected to be available.

Performance will also be improved thanks to the extensive use of lightweight materials including carbon-fiber and aluminum. The executive sedan received a complete redesign for the 2010 model year onward, representing a significant step up from its predecessor. In addition to an all-new interior and exterior, the E-Class packs a number of new or improved high-tech features, as is typical of Mercedes-Benz. Despite offering more in virtually every department, the new model will lists for $4,600 less than the prior version.

The the base E350 model lists from $49,475 -- $4,600 less than the old E350's price. The V8-powered E550 also saw a significant price reduction, listing for $5,400 under the old model at $57,175. All prices include destination.

The sedan's all-new body doesn't just look different, it also yields a number of functional improvements. Aerodynamics were a big focus of the redesign, and Mercedes was able to achieve a drag coefficient of only 0.25, making the car the most aerodynamic luxury sedan, the company claims. Moreover, the new body is 30 percent stiffer, resulting in more precise handling.

Engine performance and fuel economy has been improved, starting from the base model up. As before, the E350 offers 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the V8 E500 cranks out 382 hp at 6000 rpm and 391 lb-ft between 2800 and 4800 rpm. Both models will be offered with all-wheel-drive. Customers can also chose between the the six-cylinder E 350 CDI with an output of 241 horsepower and an even more efficient E350 BlueTEC, developing 211 horsepower and meeting EU6 exhaust emission standards planned for 2014. All the other engine variants in the new E-Class meet the EU5 limits.High-tech features include: Attention Assist, which detects driver drowsiness based on 70 parameters; Adaptive Main Beam Assist, which adjusts the angle of the headlight for the best possible illumination without blinding other motorists; LED daytime driving lights, which use less power and enhance aesthetics; Blind Spot Assist familiar from the S-Class; and Lane Keeping Assist, which uses vibrations in the steering wheel to inform the driver if they're veering out of their lane. An optional Speed Limit Assist , which recognizes speed limit signs as the car passes them, then displays the relevant speed limit in the speedometer.

As with other Mercedes models, Brake Assist Plus automatically calculates the braking pressure to prevent a collision in critical situations. When the brake pedal is depressed, the system immediately activates the calculated level of braking assistance. The company said the fourth-generation flagship sedan is planned in the U.S. come this fall in addition to the standard-wheelbase A8, but a new direct-injected 6.3-liter W12 engine is not available in the U.S. until spring 2011 .

The new A8 in 2011 showed this year at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. Both the standard and long wheelbase models have a variety of hardware, like a standard 372 horsepower 4.2-liter V8 FSI, eight-speed automatic tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.

The new 6.3 W12 to see next week in Beijing – It replaces the previous 6.0-liter engine – makes 494 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque. Together with the eight-speed transmission, says the Audi A8 L accelerates from zero to 60 mph in under 4.9 seconds and on the EU test cycle average of 20 mpg back. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 miles an hour.

Like the standard-wheelbase A8 L with optional sport differential and torque vectors are ordered, and a choice of 20 – or 21-inch wheels. The standard setup includes an adaptive air suspension and 19-inch wheels and tires.

Visually, the A8 L is hardly distinguishable from the standard A8, but it will offer optional LED illumination. The top-of-the-line A8 L W12 gets extra black and chrome trim and twin trapezoidal exhaust pipes integrated into the rear bumper.

The A8 L is longer than five inches longer than the A8, while the width and height are nearly identical. Most of this extra space between the wheels is given in the rear passenger area.

The optional Rear Seat Entertainment System features include a full-length console with separate controls for the four-zone air conditioning, a refrigerator, a folding table and a massage / adjustable seat with electrically adjustable footrest.

Lamborghini builds Gallardo Reaches 10000 Units Production

In the prestigious 2010, U.S. News and World Report ranking of exotic sports cars the Lamborghini Gallardo tied for second with Ferrari's 612 Scaglietti. This couple placed second to Lamborghini's Murciealago, which costs just a few dollars more than the combined price of the Gallardo and Scaglietti.

A compilation of reviews, presented by all the major automotive publications, with results of test drives and their analysis of each vehicle in the competition is the basis for U.S. News' ranking system.

The Gallardo was debuted in 2003 and, with nearly 10,000 units sold in its various configurations, is Lamborghini's most produced vehicle. Its $ 198,000 price places it in the "affordable" range of many when compared to the $ 500,000 price of other top name sports cars.

If you have been on this earth long enough and you are a true car enthusiast, then you know that there have been rumors circulating for about 10 years now of Toyota bringing back the infamous Supra and MR2 or a successor. Those rumors are starting to circulate once again making a grand appearance on sites such as AutoBlog and Autocar.

Toyota could use a sports car or at least some type of excitement injection. We even listed the Supra as one of the 5 concept cars that could save the world. The unfortunate death of Hiromu Naruse has probably put things on hold at Toyota for a little while for all-things exciting considering he paved the way for most of Toyotas sporty vehicles dating back to the 60’s including the Supra and MR2.


The speculations of a “new Supra” or MR2 have sparked at a very interesting time for Toyota just after they are getting over the “recalls” and re-establishing their trust with some consumers. We will likely see something in the form of a compact sports car or MR2 variant in 2013, if not sooner.

Engineering has long been an even more important part of Ferrari’s road cars than styling, and the 458 promises to deliver the best V8 performance of any predecessor. A new 4.5L V8 revs to a stratospheric 9,000 rpm, and on the way it produces 562hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. A sizable 80% of that torque arrives low in the rev range, at 3,250 rpm, partly due to a 12.5:1 compression ratio.

Yes, with all that power and such minimal mass to push off the line it’s extremely fast, managing 100km/h in only 3.4 seconds before running to a top speed of 325km/h (202mph). For years at a time, the Honda Accord has enjoyed the title of America’s most popular passenger car and with the continuous improvements the humble nameplate has received over the years, it’s easy to see why.

The latest model, the new 2011 Honda Accord Sedan and Coupe, are set to go on sale this August and have received some extensive updates including improved fuel economy, revised styling and the addition of a new leather-equipped Special Edition (SE) trim level.

Improvements to vehicle aerodynamics, engine friction and transmission gear ratios all contribute to significant fuel economy improvements. The EPA fuel-economy ratings for the 2.4-liter four-cylinder Sedan models equipped with an automatic transmission improve by 2 mpg in the city and 3 mpg on the highway, for a city/highway rating of 23/34 mpg. As for the 3.5-liter V-6, preliminary EPA fuel-economy ratings for the Sedan are 19/30 mpg city/highway mpg, an improvement of 1 mpg in highway driving.

Peak output for the four-cylinder engine ranges from 177 to 190 horsepower depending on trim and bodystyles, while the V-6 comes in at 271 horsepower. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on 4-cylinder models and a 5-speed automatic is available. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on V-6-powered models. A 6-speed manual transmission is available exclusively on the Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe.

To differentiate the latest 2011 Honda Accord Sedan and Coupe from the previous model, the exterior has been updated with a new grille design, a revised front bumper and rear deck lid, plus new wheel designs.

Other changes include the updated Accord SE trim, which is now available with many of the more luxurious features from the Accord LX-P. These include leather-trimmed seating, heated seats, driver's power-lumbar support and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

Three audio systems are available--all with MP3/WMA playback capability and an auxiliary input jack. The standard system provides a single-disc CD player, six speakers and 160 watts of power, and all Accord models get steering wheel-mounted audio controls. A premium 270-watt audio system comes standard on Accord EX Coupe and Accord EX-L Sedan models, and includes a six-disc CD changer and seven speakers including an 8-inch subwoofer. The range-topper is the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System (available on Accord EX-L), which uses an 8-inch screen and an interface dial for user input.
